About Creative Church

"Create with a Purpose" is a phrase used by Pastor Deb to express the idea of using creativity to work with God to bring about new understandings, new relationships and new ways to be present for others in the world.

Some of Our Hopes

  • To provide a unique, non-traditional God-centered gathering using spiritual texts, creative activities, conversations, prayer, meal, and service to the community.

  • To activate all our senses (sight, smell, touch, hearing, taste, and movement) to allow for fuller engagement with God, others and our faith.

  • To explore what it means to be in relationship with a Creating God who, through the Holy Spirit, continues to create all things new in our broken world. No gathering will be the same.

  • Be open and welcoming to all seekers of the sacred/spiritual who want a place to explore their faith, regardless of age, sexual orientation, gender identity, economic status, race, (dis)ability, religion, or any other label that divides humanity.

We will:

  • Meet one time a month for now. We will adapt as we grow. We will never meet on a Sunday Morning.

  • Gather in public spaces, not a church church building. As a Church without Walls, there will be no plans to build a facility for ourselves.

  • Always eat a meal together when meeting in person. This is what Jesus did with his disciples and how the early Christian church gathered.

  • Share leadership among the gathered community, with lay leadership continually being trained.

  • Always evaluate and adapt as new ideas and new leaders step up.

  • Strive to use recycled, found, or low cost materials in our activities.
